Special Awards: Recipient of the Chlorine Institues Process Safety Award This facility has been recognized by the Chlorine Institute for excellence in process safety. This is awarded to facilities that have not had an RQ incident or an RMP Chlorine Inhalation Injury in 2010. Charlotte has received this award 6 times in a row since 2005. Although JCI has been in Charlotte since the mid-1950's, the current branch facility was built in 1997. It features an indoor tank farm and state-of-the-art production and handling technologies. With its large yard and rail spur, the branch is set up to transload bulk products from railcars to tank trucks. the branch has its own truck scale and has two commercial tank washes within .25 miles of the plant, making it an ideal transloading facility.
